We escaped Rhiannon, now to go talk to a tree
I guess we’ll try getting its attention the same way we did for the Widow.
Here tree, you want some aideen’s light? pspspsps
It’s not working. We thought back to what Linda said about this tree being known for singing, and we heard the wind whistling a little as it blew through the branches.
Alex gave me some lightning circle powers
And then I used those to run through the roots of the tree with an extra gust of wind, making them sing
That got the tree’s attention, finally.
We asked it to meld with Justin and perform the Whispering Cry. It said it could do that, but it’ll come with a price. We must come back later to help it grow to its true potential, whatever that means.
We agreed, and I asked Justin one last time if he’s sure he wants to do this. There’s still the chance it could be too much and he could be claimed by the tree.
He was nervous, but he agreed to do it still. He wants to pay us back for helping him.
It sounds like the Whispering Cry is painful. Sorry, Justin. But it worked, and he can sense all the horses on Jorvik. After a bit of focus he is able to narrow it down to starbreeds, and then to Concorde. He sees him in a cage with other animals. Hmm
Just as he’s finished, guess who shows up
Yep, we’re busted. Shout out especially to the one druid who is floating, sideways, next to his horse.
Elizabeth is mad, especially at Alex. She said I’m too new to really understand the danger, but Alex should’ve known. She’s very disappointed.
Justin freaked out and said he’s not going back to jail
A bunch of wild horses came to protect him? I guess that’s a thing he can do now. His bond with horses must be even stronger now that he’s survived a Whispering Cry. Good for him.
Elizabeth said she won’t try to lock him up again. She wants him to tell us where Concorde is of his own accord.
Alex, on the other hand, was taken away by the druids. I think she’s gonna get another good scolding for this.
Justin left with his new horse friends. He said he’s gonna stay on South Hoof with the Hermit for a while. He needs more time to track down Concorde, and he has some soul searching to do about all this.
That leaves just me and Rhiannon.
She said she’s impressed, and that I have a lot of potential. Thanks, it’s the being a protagonist. She said she hopes she can train me more soon, as she suspects I’ll be great at other soul riding skills too.
