Mama halflinger had her baby!
What a cutie
Let’s see if he’s a starbreed
Nope! Apparently not. Still a cutie, though!
Alex named him Frodo, which is adorable, and then we decided to meet back up with Rhiannon.
Sounds like she didn’t have any luck finding starbreeds either.
Rhiannon said this isn’t working. We can’t just test every foal one by one, that will take way too long. We’ll never find Concorde in time. She has an idea. We’ll need to talk to Elizabeth.
Rhiannon and Elizabeth were arguing about it, and they were being pretty vague, but from what I can tell the idea is to do something called a “Whispering Cry” to find Concorde, but to do that someone must work with one of the ancient trees. The tree could take too much of the person’s power and turn them into a lignos. It’s too dangerous, even for someone as experienced with Wild Whispering as Rhiannon. But there is another.
Justin has shown signs of being a powerful Wild Whisperer himself. He’s the one who matched me up with Chancehunter, in fact. But Elizabeth will hear nothing of freeing him from prison. She doesn’t trust him, not after he joined Dark Core for a while, even if he was being mind controlled he’s still Mr Sands’ grandson.
Rhiannon gave up trying to convince Elizabeth and told us she’ll meet us tomorrow to go back to searching the foals one by one. Alex, on the other hand, has her “bad idea” face on.
She had me go get the other soul riders for an emergency meeting. I get the feeling I know what this is about.
Off I go to get Linda and Lisa
Sounds like Lisa is off on a special mission for Elizabeth, so we’ll have to do this without her. I wonder what that mission is?
Alright, we’re all here, what’s this about?
Of course it’s about busting Justin out of druid prison and using him to perform the Whispering Cry to find Concorde.
Alex and I will bust Justin out, while Linda will find out how this Whispering Cry even works.
Alex and I race off to save Justin, only to realize we have no idea where he is being kept. This plan wasn’t really well thought out, was it? I wonder if we would’ve done better with Lisa here?
It all worked out though because Lorretta showed up out of nowhere. She said she didn’t trust me saying Justin was fine and has been spying around Valedale ever since, to try to find out more. She told us there’s one house that the druids keep bringing meals to and she recognized the laundry they’re bringing out as Justin’s. That’s….terrifying how stalkery you’re willing to go for him
