It’s tradition to pass through Aideen’s Whisper alone. Alex and Tincan went first, then Lisa and Starshine, then Anne, Ganymede, and Concorde. Linda told me to go ahead, she’ll be right behind me. And remember what she told me earlier, “listen to the echo.”
Well, here I go
It went pretty normally at first, just walking through a canyon while dramatic music plays, but soon the walls closed in behind me and then everything went black.
I found myself here
As I walked along the path of glowing mushrooms, people flickered on the pedestals, echoing memories as I passed.
Elizabeth said I passed the test, activating all four rune stones.
Fripp said my powers must be controlled, I must be trained.
Mr Sands said soon it will be time to meet my destiny.
Darko said my presence is much stronger than he ever imagined possible. He started to say “could she be…?” before trailing off.
Evergray said Elizabeth is right about me, I seem special. “That girl…the reason the Keepers of Aideen formed.” Then he asked me if I’m ready for the trails.
Elizabeth told him to remember what happened last time, and Evergray said “Cathrine…”
I came to the end of the trail and saw a figure of light in the distance.
She introduced herself as Cathrine.
She said “that girl” is the goddess reborn, or so some believe.
I asked her if I’m “that girl” and she only smiled.
She’s being very cryptic. Of course she is. She said “Two souls united as one. That love makes you strong. Do not let it become your undoing. You must show them the way.”
I asked her how I’m supposed to do that and she said “You carry the power inside you. But you are not alone. Find me and you will know the truth.”
She disappeared with one last “Find me…” and I found myself back in Aideen’s Whisper
Linda saw me and wondered how I could’ve possibly gotten behind her.
I told her what happened, including my instructions to find Cathrine. Linda said she has an idea of how we might do that, but it’ll be tricky.
